Convert a bank statement PDF to Excel or CSV
By the Lejar team · Updated
Choose your e-statement PDF and the tool reads it in your browser: the file is not uploaded. It reads statements from AmBank, RHB, OCBC, Hong Leong Bank, Public Bank, Maybank, CIMB, Bank Islam and Alliance Bank. You see the bank, the period, the opening and closing balance and the first rows free, and the full CSV download needs a free Lejar account.
The CSV has the columns Date, Description, Money in, Money out and Balance, and opens in Excel or Google Sheets. The tool checks every printed balance against the rows and warns you when they do not agree.
Your statement stays on this device. The PDF is read in your browser and is not uploaded to Lejar or anyone else.
Check the rows against your statement before you rely on them. A bank can change its statement layout, and the balance check above tells you when the rows and the printed balances do not agree.
Do this in Lejar
Lejar imports your bank statements, suggests an account for each row and reconciles them, so you do not type rows into a spreadsheet.
Questions
Is my bank statement uploaded?
No. The PDF is read in your browser and the rows stay on your device. If you sign up to download, the rows are kept in this browser until you download them or press Clear. Anyone who uses this browser in that time can see them, so on a shared computer press Clear when you finish. If you do neither, they are removed the next time the tool opens after one hour, not at the hour itself.
Which banks does it support?
PDF e-statements from AmBank, RHB, OCBC, Hong Leong Bank, Public Bank, Maybank, CIMB, Bank Islam and Alliance Bank. Statements from other banks are not read yet.
My statement PDF asks for a password. Can I still convert it?
Yes. Enter the password when the tool asks for it. It is used only to open the file in your browser, and it is not saved or sent.
What about a scanned statement or a photo?
A scan has no text for this tool to read. Bank import in Lejar reads scanned statements and photos with AI after you sign up.
Can I get the rows into my accounts instead of a spreadsheet?
Yes. Bank import in Lejar reads the same statement PDF, suggests an account for each row, and posts the rows you approve.
