Running multiple Sdn Bhds: multi-entity accounting in Malaysia

Written by the Lejar team

A group running several Sdn Bhd companies usually ends up managing several sets of books. Here is how Lejar handles it in practice: one login, separate books per entity, and where a group structure changes your compliance obligations, such as the e-invoice related-company rule.

One login, every entity you own

Every company you create in Lejar sits under the same account. Switch between them with the command palette (Cmd+K, or Ctrl+K on Windows), search for the company by name, and you are in its books, with no separate sign-in per company.

Each entity keeps its own books

Every company starts on its own MPERS-aligned chart of accounts, seeded fresh, not shared with your other entities. Accounting periods, transactions, and balances are scoped to that one company; nothing from one entity's ledger leaks into another's.

SST-02, generated per entity

SST-02 is a return per registered entity, and Lejar generates it that way: each company produces its own bi-monthly SST-02 from its own records. There is no combined or consolidated SST-02 across entities, because that is not how the return works under RMCD rules either.

AI Inbox, private per entity

The AI Inbox and the AI memory it builds from your corrections stay private to the entity they belong to. A correction you make in one company's books does not change how the AI drafts transactions in another company you own; each entity's AI memory is its own.

One subscription, multiple company ledgers

Lejar Business (RM89 per month) includes 3 company ledgers and Pro (RM169 per month) includes 5, then RM25 or RM30 per extra ledger, all under one login. You are not paying for, or signing into, a separate subscription per company.

Related companies and the e-invoice timeline

If your companies share common shareholding or control, that link carries into their MyInvois e-invoice implementation timeline under LHDN's rules: a smaller related company can be pulled into an earlier mandatory date by a larger one in the same group. See our e-Invoice deadlines guide for the full related-company rule and the sole-proprietorship version of it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I manage 4 companies in one account?

Yes. Lejar Pro (RM169 per month) includes 5 company ledgers under one login, so 4 companies fit within that without paying for an extra ledger. Business (RM89 per month) includes 3, with extra ledgers at RM25 or RM30 each depending on plan.

Does each entity get its own SST-02?

Yes. SST-02 is generated per entity from that company's own records. There is no combined SST-02 across the companies in your account.

How do I switch between companies?

Open the command palette with Cmd+K (or Ctrl+K on Windows), search for the company, and select it. You stay signed into the same account; there is no separate login per company.
